Well, we did it!  Our first virtual meeting on Zoom.  We had 25 participants.

Corinne Baldassin, Coloplast Representative, gave a presentation on Coloplast's Mio line of ostomy supplies and answered several member questions.  Thank you, Corinne, for a great presentation.  The PowerPoint presentation is attached here.

Dr. Sandra Lopez, M.S., MFT., PhD., GEOSG member and Marriage & Family Therapist, offered her insights on the difficulties that many face during this time of lockdown.  One of her suggestions was to find the fun and laughter every day to make us all feel better.   Thank you, Dr. Lopez, for your participation and your insights.

Unfortunately, due to the statewide COVID-19 lockdown, we will not be meeting again this month.  Hope we can get together soon.

It was determined that the prudent move was to cancel this meeting due to the presence of the Coronavirus at Evergreen Hospital.

Please take any necessary precautions to stay healthy.  Wash your hands frequently and avoid touching others especially in public places.

The group broke up into smaller groups by ostomy types to discuss the issues relating to their type of ostomy.

A great time was had by all attendees.  There were about 25 members present for the social at Laurie's sister's home in Bellevue.  It was a time of great conversations and wonderful food.  Thank you all for attending!

We opened the meeting with a presentation from a representative from B Braun Medical. This is a manufacturer of ostomy products that have been mostly distributed in Europe up until now.  Information was shared in how to request samples from B Braun.

Our guest speaker for the evening was Claire Webber, a comedienne who happens to have an ostomy.  She shared her experiences of life, love and relationships with an ostomy.  It was a fun evening enjoyed by all!

Jeff Osborn, ostomate and world traveler, gave us a taste of his travels through his pictorial presentation.   Jeff is a wealth of information on the ins and outs of traveling with an ostomy.   There is a link below to his presentation.

Janet presented her new book, "GUTS", to the group describing her journey.  The book is a witty and emotional ride through her medical story and the loss of a best friend.  Well worth the read!

A big thank you to Karl Boser, Shield Health Representative for stepping in and speaking to our group.  Karl offered a lot of very useful information on ordering supplies, Medicare ins and outs and general information on ostomy supplies.

This social event was cancelled.  The event was scheduled for 2:00pm.   It just happened that the Seattle Sounders made it through the playoffs and their Championship match was scheduled for 1:00pm.  Having a large number of Sounder fans, it was determined that we should cancel the social event to allow members to enjoy the MLS Championship Cup (the Superbowl of American Soccer!).
